I read somewhere that your spirit animal is the animal that you feel like you are drawn to. You might not even realize it yourself. Something that has same traits as you.
So I took a hard long look at my blog, my jewelry, my clothes etc. And I noticed a pattern.. I'm drawn to SPIDERS! No shit Sherlock. I mean it's right there under my nose and I just didn't see it.

So let's break it down. I'd like to say I'm artistic, like the spider who weaves amazing webs.
I'm also independent like the spider, I work best alone.
I can also become absorbed in something for a long time and lose track of time, much like spider weaving it's web.
I also have the ability to see patterns very easily, as does the spider.
I also have a look that some people find ugly and terrifying, but some people really like it. Much like the different opinions that people have of spiders.
Spiders are my lil spirit bugs. Awesome!

I was reading a comic recently that deals heavily with themes of animism. It made me wonder what my spirit animal would be. Most people will just say their favorite animal. When I was a kid I loved wolves, now it's bats and spiders and owls. I've always had a thing for cats, too. But I think that's the difference, cats are the animal I connect with most easily. We just get each other, I know what they want and how they're feeling. I figure they're probably my spirit animal simply for the fact that we live together so harmoniously.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not always the favorite animals are the spirit animals. Cats are definitely amazing and they have very relatable traits! It sounds great that you have such cuties in your life, it really improves everyday life to live in harmony, what ever the other creatures are. They are also so lucky to have a caretaker that understands them! c:
DeleteOooh I would have guessed that you would be a Spider Girl. I always felt a lot for cats and owls. I dream very often about cats, and I love my cats of course, and all the other cats. I love how gracefully and mysterious they can be. And sometimes also clumsy and funny as well. And I feel a more spiritual connection to owls. Their symbolic meaning is something that just gets me, and they have such a mystical feel to them, I cannot describe.
ReplyDeleteYes owls really do have a mystical feel to them.. Some years ago a small owl sat at my parents apple tree and stared with it's big eyes. It felt like it saw right in to my soul. It didn't even leave when I got very close to it.
DeleteDefinitely would be hard to choose between cat and owl, but then again of course one can have 2 spirit animals! ^^ Both suit you very well!

ReplyDeleteI have no idea what my spirit animal might be... Spiders is such an obvious one for you, I can see that by just looking at your blog! ;) No such animal for me... I do feel connected to some, like foxes, crows, ravens, snakes, flying foxes, wild dogs like dingoes, dholes, african wild dogs... but no single animal stands out.
Today definitely felt like a lace kind of day! :') Thank you so much!

I think my spirit animal is the rabbit. That not sound like something cool but... I have a lot of teddies of rabbits, clothes, accessories... So my animal is the rabbit, I don't know how feel me in this moment XD

I think my spirit animal is the dog, I'm supposing a dalmatian since I was in perfect contact with my dalmatian all the time. She is no more here and Im feeling that I lost a part of me...
ReplyDeleteBtw, I have several spiders in my house and outside because I'm in the country. They are good animal eating "bad insects" and since all european species are also inoffensive with us, I like them a lot.
Awhhh it's always a tragedy loosing a beloved pet. Even more so if you and him had a special connection. I remember the time we had to give our first dog away, I was still very young. It still hurts to this day. But I suppose it's better to love and lose, than never to love at all.
DeleteIndeed spiders are very useful keeping annoying insects away. In summer if I see spiders inside the house, I usually take them to the balcony where I grow all sorts of plants. And therefore there are insects. If I was a spider I would love a place like that for living, no wind or rain to worry about.. :')
